Privacy Policy

1) Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

a) You give it to us

  • Contact/Quote forms: name, phone, email, suburb/address, project details, preferred contact time.
  • File uploads: photos, plans, PDFs (e.g., measurements, inspiration images).
  • Emails/phone calls: anything you share when you contact us.

b) Automatic collection on our website

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on page, links clicked, approximate location (city level), device/browser type.
  • Cookies and similar tech: for remembering preferences, basic analytics, spam protection, and performance.

c) From third parties with your knowledge

  • If you’re referred by a designer/builder and they share plans or a brief, or if you share a cloud link (e.g., Drive/Dropbox) that includes other people’s details.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (e.g., health, religion) or information about children.

2) Why we collect it (and our lawful basis)

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes.
  • To schedule measures, manufacture, delivery and installation.
  • To improve our website and services (understand which pages are useful).
  • To send you project updates or appointment reminders.
  • To meet legal/record-keeping obligations (invoices, warranties, tax).

We collect and use personal information with your consent (e.g., when you submit a form or call us) and for our legitimate business purposes (running a joinery business and website). Where required, we will ask for your consent (e.g., marketing emails).

3) Do you have to give us your information?

You don’t have to, but we may not be able to quote, schedule a measure, or deliver services without basic contact and project details.

4) How we use cookies & analytics

  • Cookies: small files to help the site function and remember preferences.
  • Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4): we look at aggregated statistics to improve the site.
  • Your choices: you can block cookies in your browser, use ad blockers, or opt out of Google Analytics with their browser add-on. Blocking cookies may affect some site features (e.g., form performance or session persistence).

5) Anti-spam & security services

  • reCAPTCHA (v3 or similar): helps stop spam. This service checks basic technical signals (e.g., IP, device, behaviour) to assess whether a submission appears human.
  • Firewall/anti-bot tools: our host may automatically log IP addresses to protect against attacks.

These services run only to secure the site and aren’t used to market to you.

6) Map & embedded content

Pages may include Google Maps or other embeds (e.g., videos). These services may set their own cookies or collect usage data per their policies.

7) Who we share information with

We don’t sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate (website hosting, email, form handling, cloud storage, analytics, spam protection).
  • Project partners you approve (e.g., your designer/architect or specific trades) so the job runs smoothly.
  • Authorities if required by law (e.g., responding to legal requests).

Service providers may be located in Australia or overseas (common locations include the USA, EU or Asia-Pacific). Where data travels, we take reasonable steps to ensure providers handle it securely and in line with the APPs.

8) How we store & protect information

  • Storage: encrypted cloud services and secured email accounts; limited access on a need-to-know basis.
  • Retention:
    • Enquiry/quote data: typically kept for up to 24 months (or longer if the project proceeds).

    • Project/job records (including drawings, approvals, invoices/warranty): retained as required for business, warranty and tax purposes.

  • Deletion: when we no longer need the information, we take steps to de-identify or securely delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, but no system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach likely to cause serious harm, we will follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (notify affected individuals and the OAIC) as required.

9) Marketing

We prefer direct, person-to-person communication. If we ever send marketing emails:

  • We’ll keep it relevant (e.g., service updates or guides).
  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

We do not use SMS marketing.

10) Your rights

Subject to the Privacy Act (and reasonable verification steps), you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections if your details are inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Ask questions about how your information is handled.

We’ll respond within a reasonable time. If we can’t meet a request (e.g., legal constraints), we’ll explain why.

11) Third-party links

Our site may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are not our responsibility. Check their policies before providing personal information.

12) Using our website from overseas

We serve customers in Australia. If you visit from overseas, you agree that your information may be processed and stored in Australia and/or where our service providers host systems.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services or the law. The “Last updated” date shows the most recent version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
