Our Warranty at a Glance (AEO quick answers)

  • Workmanship warranty: 10 years on fixed joinery we install.
  • Products: Manufacturer warranties apply to hardware, lighting, benchtops and accessories we supply.
  • Post-install: 90-day check available on request — hinge/runner tuning, minor tweaks.
  • Coverage area: Sydney metro (~50 km from CBD).
  • How to claim: Email joineryonly@gmail.com with photos, your address and install date; or call 0403 260 924.

Fixed joinery means built-in cabinetry we supply and install (kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, vanities/laundries, commercial joinery, temple walls, etc.).

What’s Covered

10-Year Workmanship Warranty (Fixed Joinery We Install)

We guarantee our installation workmanship and cabinetmaking for 10 years from the practical completion date against defects caused by our work, including:

  • Cabinet carcass construction faults (not wear or misuse)
  • Poor fixings to structure (where structure is sound)
  • Door/drawer alignment beyond normal hardware adjustment at handover
  • Joinery joins/gaps outside reasonable industry tolerances (typically ±2–3 mm)
  • Visible finishing defects originating from our workshop process

Manufacturer Warranties (supplied components)

We pass through the original manufacturer warranties for items we supply, e.g.:

  • Hardware: soft-close hinges, runners, pull-outs, lift systems
  • Lighting & drivers: LED strips/spots, power supplies
  • Benchtops & panels: engineered stone, compact laminate, premium laminates, veneer finishes
  • Appliance/fittings (where supplied by us, if ever)

We’ll help with the paperwork and contact details if you need to lodge a claim with a supplier.

What’s Not Covered (fair exclusions)

To keep things clear and fair, our warranty doesn’t cover:

  • Wear & tear / misuse: impact dents, scratches, water ingress from spills not wiped, heat damage from hot pots, chemical damage, over-loading drawers/shelves.
  • Movement beyond our control: building/substrate movement, moisture-related swelling where site conditions are unsuitable, or where waterproofing/tiling/painting by others affects reveals.
  • Third-party work: damage caused by other trades or by DIY modifications after handover.
  • Environmental exposure: external weathering, corrosion or UV effects on outdoor items beyond product specifications (we specify suitable materials but exposure varies).
  • Stone/natural variation: natural veining, colour shifts between batches, and acceptable tolerances per supplier standards.
  • Post-handover adjustments within hardware range: minor hinge/runner tweaks that arise from settling (we’ll happily do these at the 90-day check if you request it).
  • Supply-only projects: where we did not install the joinery.

If you’re unsure whether something is covered, just ask — we’ll look after you and give a straight answer.

90-Day Post-Install Check (on request)

Within the first three months of daily use, small tweaks can appear (a door relaxes, a drawer needs a quarter-turn, a slider wants a touch more tension). If you’d like, we’ll book a one-off check to:

  • Re-align doors/drawers within hardware adjustment range
  • Re-seat soft-close dampers / adjust runners
  • Answer any care questions and sanity-check lighting and cable routes

To book: email joineryonly@gmail.com with subject “90-Day Check — [Your Suburb]” and 2–3 preferred times.

How to Make a Warranty Request (simple steps)

  1. Email us — joineryonly@gmail.com (or call 0403 260 924).
  2. Include:
    • Name, address, best contact number
    • Install month/year (rough is fine)
    • Photos/video of the issue (wide shot + close-up)
    • A short note on when it happens (e.g., “drawer sticks when full” / “hinge won’t hold”).
  3. We’ll triage within 2 business days, advise if it’s workmanship or manufacturer, and next steps.
  4. If a site visit is needed, we’ll book a time. For manufacturer faults, we’ll help coordinate their process.

Sydney-metro visits are covered for workmanship claims. If the issue is non-warranty (e.g., accidental damage), we can quote a repair.

Care & Maintenance (keep it looking new)

All Cabinet Surfaces (daily)

  • Wipe with microfibre & mild soapy water, then dry.
  • Avoid abrasive creams/scourers, solvents, bleach, strong degreasers and steam cleaners.
  • Wipe spills promptly, especially around sink cut-outs and dishwasher steam vents.

2-Pack Polyurethane

  • Soft cloth + mild cleaner; avoid ammonia/solvent products.
  • Use felt pads under décor; avoid dragging metal objects on matte finishes.

Melamine / High-Pressure Laminate (HPL)

  • Warm soapy water; dry after cleaning.
  • Avoid prolonged standing water on edges/joints.

Timber Veneer / Solid Timber Accents

  • Damp (not wet) microfibre; dry immediately.
  • Keep away from continuous direct sun or high humidity; expect gentle patina over time.

Benchtops

  • Engineered stone: warm soapy water; use trivets for hot items; cut on boards.
  • Natural stone: follow sealer guidance; wipe spills quickly (wine, citrus, oils).
  • Compact/laminate: no hot pots directly; avoid pooling water at joins; use boards.

Hardware (hinges, runners, pull-outs)

  • Keep loads within sensible limits; wipe dust from runners occasionally.
  • If a damper feels weak or a runner sticks, note the position and tell us — many parts are serviceable.

Lighting & Power (where included)

  • Use dry cloth only on diffusers/bezels.
  • Don’t block driver ventilation; if a light flickers, send a short video so we can diagnose.

AV & Comms Joinery (media walls, boardrooms)

  • Keep vent slots clear; don’t stuff soft items against equipment.
  • Label new cables when you add devices so service access stays easy.

Wet Areas (vanities, laundries)

  • Wipe splashes around tap holes & basins; keep cut-outs dry.
  • Ensure extraction/ventilation is used; open doors briefly after steamy showers.

Outdoor Carpentry (no decking)

  • For aluminium slats/frames: occasional wash with mild soapy water; check hinges/latches annually.
  • For timber elements: follow finish/coating schedule; expect seasonal movement; re-coat per product instructions (exposure dependent).
  • Stainless/galv fixings may tea-stain in coastal zones; clean with appropriate products.

Custom Made Temples (safety-aware)

  • Place diya on stone/metal tray only; allow to cool before wiping.
  • Keep vent slots and LED drivers clear; never leave flame unattended.
  • Use gentle cleaners — avoid oil spills on timber/veneer.

Reasonable Tolerances & Natural Variation

  • Lines & reveals: cabinetry is installed to square/plumb levels with typical tolerances of ±2–3 mm for gaps/reveals.
  • Colour & grain: timber/veneer and some stones vary naturally; small batch variances are normal.
  • Lighting: warm LED may render colours differently than daylight; this is expected.

Repairs, Parts & Out-of-Warranty Support

We keep common hardware on hand and can source replacements for most systems. If your project is outside warranty or the issue isn’t covered, we’ll quote a fair, fixed price for parts and labour.

FAQ — Warranty & Aftercare

When does the 10-year workmanship warranty start?
On practical completion — the date we finish installation and hand you the space.

Do you cover supply-only jobs?
Our workmanship warranty applies to installations we complete. For supply-only, manufacturer warranties still apply to parts we supplied.

What if a hinge or drawer fails later?
Send a photo/video. If it’s a manufacturer defect within their warranty, we’ll help process it. Many issues are quick adjustments.

Can you tune doors/drawers after a few weeks?
Yes — book the 90-day check (on request) and we’ll fine-tune.

What if I change appliances or AV gear later?
We can modify cabinetry or cable/vent layouts; we’ll quote changes as a small works service.

Do you charge call-out fees? Not for valid workmanship claims in our coverage area. For non-warranty repairs/tuning, we’ll quote first so there are no surprises.
